CSSM, the Civil Society Support Mechanism (MASC, Mecanismo de Apoio à Sociedade Civil) aims to improve governance and accountability for ordinary Mozambican citizens through strengthening and diversifying the engagement of Mozambican Civil Society Organisations with monitoring and advocacy on governance.
CONVITE PARA APRESENTAÇÃO DE PROPOSTAS
Outubro de 2009: O MASC vem por este meio convidar todas as OSCs a submeterem propostas de solicitação de financiamento ou de capacitação institucional. As propostas serão avaliadas por um Comité de Avaliação. A próxima reunião de avaliação de propostas terá lugar no dia 10 do Decembro de 2009. Para este convite, a data-limite de submissão de propostas é 19 de Novembro de 2009, até às 15H00. As propostas recebidas após esta data serão avaliadas na reunião seguinte do Comité de Avaliação, em Dezembro de 2009.

Public debates about local governance and community participation

Setember 2009: The citizens in the communities are not aware of the different mechanisms for participation in local governance, and they complain about little access to information and strong party interference in local forum and councils. These were some of the conclusions of the six public debates organized in  the districts of Manhiça, Chokwé, Namaacha, Bagamoyo, Dondo and the city of Beira.

Common fight for Human Rights in Tanzania and Mozambique
June 2009: Organizations in Mozambique and Tanzania have common goals and a lot to learn from eachother in the area of Humans Rights. That became clear during the exchange visit to Tanzania, organized by MASC from 24 - 31 of May 2009. Four Mozambican organizations engaged with Human Rights visited the Legal and Human Rights Centre (LRHC) in Tanzania, the Africa Media Group ltd (channel ten), the Foundation for Civil Society; the Policy Forum, WLAC and the Tanganyika Law Society.
